About Us
The Mole Trap pub has been established for over 200 years. We have renovated sympathetically so that it retains the features and charm that make it so unique. It's cosy inside on colder days and the patio gardens are the perfect spot to enjoy food and drinks outside in the spring and summer. We welcome families, cyclists, locals and those who travel to enjoy the pub. Friendly dogs are also welcomed inside and outside.
Our story
We are Daniel and Lisa Teden and we purchased The Mole Trap Pub freehold in December 2020, we have two young daughters and are delighted to open The Mole Trap again to serve the local community that is a family-run and family friendly pub.
Lisa grew up in Epping and knew the pub well from previous visits and spent 8 years working in a pub early on her in career, before moving into HR and establishing a career as an HR Manager for various consultancy businesses.
Daniel grew up with parents who were in the hospitality industry running pubs and hotels, he had first hand experience working in the industry early in his career. Since, Daniel has set-up and continues to run a very well established Mechanical Engineering business.
We are both first time pub owners and were excited about the project and potential The Mole Trap had to offer. The pub itself has been an established for over 200 years and has been very popular with locals for many years. The pub was closed down in 2018 and hadn’t traded for until May 2021 when we re-opened. The community were very excited and passionate to have their local pub back, especially with the extensive refurbishment works we had carried out to the building.

The Renovation
The Mole Trap pub has been established for over 200 years. We have renovated sympathetically so it retains the features and charm that make The Mole Trap so unique.
We have also created lots of new spaces and features that we felt would develop it make it a great local for our community and also a destination pub for people from further afield.
We have developed the outside space to create gorgeous gardens complete with a vintage Bar De Van, making The Mole Trap a destination pub whatever the season.
